The long-awaited demolition finally started

The demolition of the National stadium was finally started on 29th, 2010 overcoming the delay of economy crisis since 2007.This stadium was built in 1973.

Having the best knowledge of the local conditions, and the demolition specialist, Beng Soon Machinery Services (S) Pte Ltd was entrusted this task. The company had already performed and experienced various kinds of other special demolition projects by the time they started the National Stadium.

According to press releases, it will be redeveloped into a new sports hub which has a 55,000 seats national stadium with a automatic-mobile roof, a 6000 seats indoor water sports center and a 3000 capacity multi-functional arena etc aiming at 2014.
